I recently had the privilege of hearing Dr. Norlan Hernández speak at ALPFA’s (Association of Latino Professionals For America) annual leadership summit on the topic of leadership. I walked away feeling inspired, challenged, and motivated to reflect on how I can continue growing as a leader.

There were so many valuable takeaways, but the message that resonated most deeply with me was his reminder that we need to “build and rely on community. Leadership is communal.”

Those words truly hit home. As I move forward, I hope to lead by building and strengthening community—because leadership, at its core, is never a solo journey.”
